Cooking of Meth: Hermano did indeed lead his cell within the border town his Cell resided in, but he occasionally had to teach some of the newer members how to cook some of their 'local produce', as well as cook their own batches.

Firearms: Occasionally, the Cell would run into the occasional firefight with local police within Pedras Negras, usually involving all of the Cell's members or inhabitants. Hermano did indeed have to keep himself trained with a weapon just for those occasions or other happenings.

Leadership: Hermano has lead his own cell within Pedras Negras for multiple years before the Combine invasion, giving him know how then and now in City 22 to correctly lead his men without them cutting his head off in the middle of the night.
